Celestion, a pioneer in transducer technology and raw frame drivers for guitar and bass amplification, is announcing the addition of several new Partners in Tone to its endorsee roster for 2005. Eric Johnson, Slipknot’s Jim Root and Mick Thompson, as well as bass player/session-giant Jack Daley, join renowned guitarists Slash, Brian May and Johnny Hiland in the Partners in Tone campaign. The announcement comes on the heels of Celestion introducing its hand-built Heritage Series, which are recreations of the legendary 1960s G12M and G12H guitar speakers.
Launched in early 2004, the Partners in Tone campaign is designed to support and increase awareness of the Celestion brand name with a targeted public relations and national advertising effort in leading consumer guitar and MI trade publications. In addition, to further promote Partners in Tone while providing consumers the most accurate up-to-the-minute information on the complete range of Celestion guitar and professional audio products, the company has launched a radically redesigned and expanded online presence, along with brand-new product literature.
Legendary Austin, Texas-based, Grammy®-award winning guitarist Eric Johnson has been called revolutionary, multifaceted and transcendent. Known for his signature guitar sound, Johnson has been a Celestion user throughout his career. Commenting on the new Heritage Series G12H, Johnson stated, "This is the most faithful recreation of the original G12H I have ever heard. It brings into the present all the possible magic of tone that rock guitar was built upon. It is a joy to play music through."
Slipknot's mix of grinding, alternative metal, uncompromising attitude and in-your-face imagery has helped make them one of the most popular and recognizable underground guitar bands today. Lead guitarists Jim Root and Mick Thompson have both chosen to use Celestion speakers as part of their sound. Jim Root had this to say about his Celestion G12T-75s: "All my speaker enclosures are blessed with Celestions. As far as I’m concerned, there is no other choice."
Bassist Jack Daley, noted for his session work with leading artists such as Lenny Kravitz, Joss Stone and Everlast, to name a few, uses and endorses Celestion. On his preference for Celestion bass drivers, Jack Daley related, "Celestion bass speakers give me the rawness I love and the tightness I need." He continued, "I wouldn’t use anything else. Awesome!"
Remarking on the expanded Partners in Tone program, Celestion’s Head of Sales and Marketing Paul Richardson said, "We’ve always felt the best way to get our message out to the music community would be to let leading players speak for themselves. Some truly great artists have been willing to tell their own story of why they use and depend on Celestion night after night, and there are still more to come in 2005."
