Ipswich, England, 11 March 2002 - Celestion has launched a comprehensive player support programme for their range of classic guitar speakers. Based around interactive PC software the new programme makes available in-store merchandising materials to increase Celestion visibility on the sales floor as well as offering information about speaker replacement. In addition, a redesigned website featuring Celestion’s interactive Tone Selector is online now.
Guitarists surfing the web can go to www.celestion.com and access the most comprehensive data on Celestion speakers. The site features specific information on Celestion speakers and has individual sections that include: guitar and bass guitar loudspeakers; acoustic guitar/instrument loudspeakers; downloadable guitar loudspeaker soundfiles; system upgrading & technical information; and Celestion’s new interactive Tone Selector.
The Tone Selector enables customers both to obtain general information about upgrading or replacing their current speaker(s) and to get a true feel of what the recommended Celestion speaker would sound like. The Tone Selector section is divided into several subsections:
Upgrade Overview — covers choosing the right loudspeaker: "When should I change my loudspeaker?" and "How do I change my loudspeaker?"
Tone Selector — enables visitors to select the genre/style of music and type of amplifier/speaker combination along with recommended Celestion driver, and then hear a demo of what that combination would sound like.
G12 Century — a dedicated section for Celestion’s latest critically acclaimed guitar speaker with demos categorized by musical style and various amplifier combinations.
Install Guide — covers advice with diagrams for the various installation options available including typical wiring configuration, anatomy of a loudspeaker, and so on.
“One of the primary goals of Tone Selector is to encourage guitarists to think about changing their speakers to Celestion, much in the same was as they think about changing their pickups to get a new sound,” states Michael Tuck, Sales and Marketing Director of Celestion. “Working closely with guitarists, we have created a comprehensive program that not only answers the most common questions about speaker replacement, but also provides our dealers with a new source of revenue through replacement speaker sales.”
